Steve is a PhD physicist who co-founded Kairos Aerospace in 2014. Prior to founding Kairos, Steve was a research manager at the Lockheed Martin Solar and Astrophysics Laboratory. He has worked on a variety of NASA- and DARPA-funded programs, including cryogenic detector programs, solar physics experiments and radiation modeling for spacecraft.
Elena is a PhD physical chemist who is responsible for Kairos research activities, development of spectrometer hardware, and advanced data analytics. Prior to joining Kairos, Elena was Director of Research for Los Gatos Research, producing high performance spectroscopic analyzers for measurements of trace gasses and isotopes and serving as principal investigator on a number of government funded collaborative research projects.
Ari is responsible for Kairos Aerospace’s runway-to-cloud data pipeline infrastructure and fully ephemeral cloud architecture with performance/latency tuning built into its core. Ari also built Kairos’ end-to-end encrypted cloud data storage and processing infrastructure. Prior to helping found Kairos, Ari was a very early engineer at Palantir Technologies. Ari is the co-author of The Architecture of Privacy, a book that outlines how to responsibly hold data while preserving people’s privacy to the greatest extent possible.
With a strong track record and over 30 years experience, Fernando drives sales and growth in the company. His career has primarily encompassed digital technology and oil and gas sectors, most recently at General Electric, Baker Hughes and Schlumberger. These positions led to extensive domestic and international experience and expertise in strategy, sales, business development, operational management, marketing and technology.
Landon leads the External Operations department, which is responsible for all phases of production operations at Kairos. With a background in astrophysics, Landon started in 2015 as the company’s first Operations Engineer and managed early versions of the remote sensing systems while in air for over 300 flight hours. Landon’s team is focused on scaling the business through flight operational safety, customer retention, and process automation.
Ryan leads the policy advocacy and external communications programs at Kairos. He works with policymakers to develop sound methane policies at the state, federal, and international levels. Ryan joined Kairos in 2018, originally as a part of the business development team, and focuses on telling the Kairos story to key stakeholders. Prior to joining Kairos, he worked on oil and gas air quality policy at Western Energy Alliance and in energy technology development for the State of Utah.
Holly leads the software development team at Kairos. Previously, Holly led AgTech platform development efforts at Yara International. Before that, Holly was founder and chief architect at Agronomic Technology Corp, a precision agriculture software company later acquired by Yara. At Agronomic Technology, Holly was responsible for all aspects of technology including cloud infrastructure, data models, APIs, and integrations with other systems.
