Permian-Based Operator Becomes Top Performer on Methane Emissions Intensity with 28x ROI

Blog Post

In the first quarter of 2022, an independent E&P operator commissioned Kairos Aerospace to survey its upstream assets to detect possible methane leaks and to provide an emissions assessment.

The aerial survey and subsequent repairs resulted in a benchmarking Methane Assessment Report that showed the customer was among the best of similarly sized oil and gas operators in the Permian Basin. The reported payback period of the survey for the customer, which was calculated based on actual repair costs and the value of additional captured gas, was 13 days with a return on investment (ROI) of 2,845%.
